Solutions
Venting – The vent provides protection against potential hazards of deflagration because it offers a planned path for gases to escape.
Isolation – Isolation systems prevent the spread of flame through fast-acting valves or chemical barriers, effectively eliminating secondary explosions.
Suppression – To prevent the explosion before the destructive pressures are.
Fike has the expertise, experience and products to safely protect nearly any processing facility, and most importantly, its people, from a combustible dust hazard and with the complete services of Industrial Sprinkler you will maintain your explosion protection systems in optimal conditions as required by NFPA and AHJ’s.
Vents Equipment & Systems
Fike Variety of Explosion Vents
We offer a variety of Explosion Vents in different shapes, size and for any type of application. High performance explosion vent and provides superior service life for severe process pressure cycling and pulsating conditions. Some of the vents operate up to full vacuum levels, depending on vent size.
EleQuench Flameless Explosion Venting for Grain Elevators
The EleQuench flame arrester is a flame filter companion to the EleGuard explosion vent – designed specifically for use on grain bucket elevator legs.
Flamquench Flameless Explosion Venting
Designed for use in combination with round Fike explosion vents, extinguishes the flame from the vented explosion, not allowing it to exit the device … where it could ignite secondary explosions or endanger personnel.
FLAMQUENCH II SQ
Flameless Explosion Venting – Designed for use with square/rectangular explosion vents, FlamQuench SQ technology consists of various layers of high temperature stainless steel which absorb heat produced during the combustion.
Isolation Equipment & Systems
Chemical Isolation (SRD)
Chemical Explosion Isolation is achieved through a rapid discharge of a chemical explosion suppressant to prevent the flame from continuing through to other areas of your process system.
Explosion Isolation Valve (EIV, FAV)
Fast, Effective Explosion Protection – Designed to close within milliseconds of detecting an explosion, Fike’s Explosion Isolation Valve (EIV) prevents the spread of flames and pressure (in both directions), effectively preventing an explosion from moving through your process piping or duct work
Explosion Isolation Pinch Valve (EIPV)
Preventing Deflagration Propagation – The Fike Explosion Isolation Pinch Valve (EIPV) consists of a heavy-duty cast valve body containing a rugged elastomer sleeve. Upon explosion detection, compressed air is released at high speed and within milliseconds the sleeve is “pinched” to full closure, stopping explosion propagation beyond the valve.
Flow Actuated Explosion Isolation Valve (Ventex)
A Mechanical Barrier Against Flame and Pressure – Unlike active explosion barriers, Flow Actuated Explosion Isolation Valves are closed by the force of energy supply, detectors or system controls.
Valvex
Passive Explosion Isolation Solution – ValvEx® is an explosion isolation valve that prevents explosions from spreading through industrial installations. ValvEx® is a “passive” valve, meaning it closes within milliseconds by the explosion pressure itself.
Chemical Suppressors Equipment & Systems
Explosion Suppression (HRD)
Unique Technology Detects and Responds in Milliseconds, chemically suppress an explosion in its earliest stages – before an explosion can cause a disaster or become catastrophic.
Detection and Controls Equipment & Systems
Thermal Imaging Cameras for Fire & Explosion Protection
Thermal imaging technology accurately identifies obscured hot spots or overheated equipment and may activate connected systems to quickly mitigate potential hazards.
Explosion Detection and Controls
Fike has the most advanced control systems available in today’s explosion protection market (EPACO). Fike’s Detection and Control Systems are pre-configured to recognize danger signs and make important decisions about when to activate explosion isolation and/or explosion suppression systems, effectively preventing an explosion from damaging your equipment and facility.
